Sh. Balraj Joshi possesses a rich experience of more than 37 years during which he has worked in various phases of the development of the Hydropower projects in India and abroad.

He superannuated in December 2019 from NHPC as its CMD and also as Chairman of NHDC and LDHCL, the two being subsidiary companies. Prior to this, he was in the NHPC board as Director (Technical) since 1.4.2016. He had joined NHPC in 1982 and ever since has been involved with the construction as well as formulation and design of a number of hydroelectric Projects in the country and abroad.

He holds a Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering from Govt. College of Karad, Maharashtra and also holds a PG Diploma in Hydropower from the prestigious Norwegian Institute of Technology, Trondheim, Norway. He also has completed a PG qualification in Construction Management from NICMAR, PUNE.
